Telecommunication Corporation Says Engages in Telecom Network Expansion
Addis Ababa , January 5, 2010 (Addis Ababa) -

The Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation said it has engaged in the expansion of the construction of telecom network in a bid to satisfy the need of its telephone subscribers.

Corporation Deputy Chief Executive, Tesfa Gebre-michale said during a meeting organized to discuss problems encountered in telephone expansion here on Tuesday that work on the construction of additional network expansion project would be completed soon.

He said when the construction of the network is completed, 2.4 million regular telephone, 12 milllion mobile and two million modern fast Internet subscribers would benefit from it.

The project would also create 2000 Code division multiple access (CDMA), which is a channel access method utilized by various radio communication technologies.

According to Tesfa, the project would also address problems related to ICT.

He further said the Corporation has been registering subscribers while making discounts on service charges recntly.
