Addis Ababa, May 30, 2009 (Addis Ababa) - Some 44 investors with over 124 million birr combined capital have engaged in various investment activities in Jimma Town administration during the past seven months, the town administration office said.
Town Mayor, Ahmed Aba Gisa told ENA that investors significantly contribute in the efforts to speed up development in the town.
The administration has provided over 282,000 square meters land to investors during the past seven months alone.
He said the investors are engaged in industry, education, urban agriculture and other sectors.
The town administration and other pertinent offices are providing the necessary support to the investors.
The investment projects have created jobs to more than 1,700 unemployed citizens during the reported period.
Ahmed on the occasion called on local and foreign investors to invest in the town.
