Addis Ababa, May 31, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - National Oil Company inaugurates a filling station constructed at a cost of over 3.4 million birr in Arba Minch town on Friday.The station has already created jobs to 50 people.
Inaugurating the facility, company executive officer, Tadesse Tilahun said the company is the first local company to import and distribute Petroleum products across the country.
The company has constructed 85 international standard filling stations across the country over the past three years.
The company has 30 percent market share in the country's petroleum market.
He said the company is contributing share in the country’s economic and development endeavors enhancing the country's petroleum reserve and distribution capacity.
The station fills up 12 vehicles at once. The company has 14 filling stations in South Ethiopia Peoples' State alone and envisages launching other stations in other town shortly.
Gamo Gofa Zone Chief, Dosa Mada for his part expressed his belief that the station would contribute to the growth of the town and curb shortage of petroleum in the region.
