Addis Ababa, May 13, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Jean Ping said AU have established media center with the primary objective of feeding timely information to the media.In a brief statement he gave here on Tuesday, Ping said the center would begin service as of May 16, 2008.
He said the center would enable it to provide information to the media as quickly as possible.
Ping said AU would assign a spokesperson in charge of giving an update information to the media.
He said the establishment of the center would address the problems of journalists in getting passes and appropriate and timely information.
