The University would be constructed jointly by the Ethiopian and the South Korean governments.

Chief of the Oromia Stste, Abadula Gemeda and representatives of the South Korean Chonbuk City Christian group laid the corner stone for the University that will be constructed to commemorate Ethiopian soldiers who sacrificed their lives while fighting along with South Korean soldiers 57 years ago.

The South Korean representatives during the ceremony said that the University due to be constructed on 10 hectares of land will play due role in the efforts of expanding ICT in Ethiopia.The University will also carry out other related activities.

Oromia State Chief Abadula Gemeda also said that the construction of the University will bring the existing cooperation between the two countries to a higher level.

Abadula also affirmed that the State's government would provide all assistances for the construction of the University.

Sululta town administration Mayor, Getachew Adugna for his part expressed hope that the construction of the University will contribute for the over all development of the town.
