Addis Ababa, October 25, 2007 (Addis Ababa) - President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent congratulatory message to President Girma Woldegiorgis over his re-election as President of the FDRE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.In a statement it sent to ENA on Thursday the ministry said President Putin in his message noted that the re-election of President Girma would help to enhance the Ethio-Russia joint commission and the existing ties between the two countries in trade and economic cooperation.
President Putin also expressed hope that the age-long relation of the two nations would be further consolidated.
Putin wished good health and success to President Girma and prosperity to the people and government of Ethiopia.
Similarly, the Ugandan President Yoweri Musevini expressed his contentment over the re-election of President Girma Woledegiorgis.
President Musevini expressed his felicitation on behalf of Ugandan people and government, according to the ministry.
In a related development, President of Portugal, Anibal Cavaco Silva sent congratulatory message to President Giram Woldegiorgis over his re-election for his second term in office.
The re-election of President Girma Woledegiorgis demonstrated that the House of Peoples’ Representative and the entire public have built confidence on him, President Cavaco said.
President Cavaco hope that the re-election of President Girma Woldegiorgis would further boost the existing good relation between Ethiopia and Portugal and it would further be improved over the period ahead.
Cavaco wished good health and success to President Girma and prosperity to the people and government of Ethiopia.
